Although Chrome can do a lot, there’s just one feature I want to focus on: the fact that Google's web browser can store passwords. Now, you could access a list of stored passwords by digging through Chrome’s settings or you could get a free and user friendly tool to fetch this information for you.

The tool I’m talking about is NirSoft’s ChromePass – simply launch it and it will list all the usernames and passwords that Chrome has stored over time. ChromePass doesn’t do this just for Chrome. It also works with other browsers that are based on Chrome, like Vivaldi, Opera, and Yandex Browser.

If you don’t like to waste time installing stuff on your PC, you’ll be glad to know that ChromePass doesn’t need to be installed. To get started with this free tool, all you have to do is download an archive, extract its contents, and run the ChromePass executable. According to the developer, ChromePass should work just fine with any Windows edition.

ChromePass has a simple interface that features a traditional File Menu, a toolbar, and a big panel that lists all the usernames and passwords stored by Chrome – or Opera, Vivaldi, and Yandex Browser. The list and individual items from the list can be exported as TXT or HTML.

All NirSoft applications are freeware, including ChromePass. If you like ChromePass or any other NirSoft application, visit NirSoft.net and make a donation.

Launch ChromePass and it will list all the usernames and passwords that Chrome has saved. This tool is free, doesn’t need to be installed, and it works with other Chrome-based browsers, like Opera, Vivaldi and Yandex Browser.

Pros

You don’t have to install ChromePass to start using it. ChromePass supports any Windows edition and on top of Chrome, it also supports Opera, Vivaldi and Yandex Browser. Launch ChromePass and it will list all the passwords saved by Chrome and all other supported browsers. ChromePass is free software.

Cons

Unfortunately for ChromePass, it really isn’t that hard to open Chrome’s Settings menu and view all the passwords it has saved. Tip NirSoft has similar applications for other web browsers: IE PassView for Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer and PasswordFox for Mozilla’s Firefox.
